Tribetta Cornish Rex Present

We would like to welcome you to our cattery.

We specialize in Cornish Rex.

Cornish Rex are quite a unique cat. They are a natural genetic mutation that occurred in Cornwall England in 1950 from a litter of barn cats. They are a small, curvaceous, short haired cat with silky soft wavy hair. Their body style has been compared to the greyhound with huge ears. In spite of looking delicate, they are very muscular and agile. They are very active and also aggressively affectionate cats. They love to be held or snuggled under the covers with their favorite person. Extremely inquisitive, nothing goes unnoticed by a Cornish Rex. There favorite games include fetch, catch and they will even toss their own toys in the air to play catch with themselves. The average Rex female is about 4 to 5 pounds with the males in the 7 to 9 pound range. They come in all colors including pointed like the Siamese. Many people are under the impression that the Rex does not shed and is hypoallergenic but this is not true. Since the coat is so short, shedding is minimal compared to other breeds of cats but people that are allergic to cat dander or saliva can still be allergic to a degree. They can just usually tolerate a Rex more than other cats. If in doubt, find a Rex breeder in your area and ask to visit with their cats to judge for yourself. This breed of cat is for the person who wants an active cat to participate in their daily life.
